That seems to be the problem. Charging money for something they used to do for themselves. Now technology has come full circle. Now they can be off the grid with the latest inexpensive devices. Water, energy, processed wastewater, organic material for composting, compost teas for lawn, trees, flowers, and Victoria gardens. All they need to do now is decide how much they need for 2 years and do a long term storage plan. Water cistern, energy storage batteries, root cellar and long term canning. Cost less than $100 a year. No more infrastructure to pay for and destroy private land. no electrical grid to worry about someone to set off an EMP, no solar flares worries. They list goes on. Just imagine giving money to learn how not to do something right.
