Anything used for preparing for a certification exam will have to be reasonably complex. But an introductory primer might be worthwhile as an intermediate step to help prevent the needed learning from getting intimidating. OWP has reasonably priced manuals in both categories. Their intro for DW seems to get overlooked: https://www.owp.csus.edu/courses/drinking-water/basic-small-water-system-operations.php It seems to be tailored to small systems, but I expect it could still be useful. Maybe you have in mind something similar but focused more on larger systems? OWP's videos might be helpful as well. A new effort could well be a good thing, but will be a lot of effort.
